90% Vote Yes to Ban Insider Trading

WILKES-BARRE, PA — Action Together NEPA (ATNEPA) released the following joint statement from ATNEPA Executive Director and Luzerne County resident Alisha Hoffman-Mirilovich and registered nurse and Lackawanna County resident Jennifer Graham Partyka:

“Tonight, residents across NEPA made clear that they’re tired of their elected officials taking advantage of them.

Voters have now delivered a mandate to our leaders. Rein in corruption. Ban insider trading. Put enforceable safeguards in place so the people making decisions on our behalf cannot profit from information or power entrusted to them.

This campaign began with neighbors organizing across Lackawanna and Luzerne counties. More than 40,000 people signed petitions to put these questions before voters. Their message crossed party lines: elected officials should not use positions of power for personal profit.

Voters have now delivered a mandate to our leaders. Rein in corruption. Ban insider trading. Put enforceable safeguards in place so the people making decisions on our behalf cannot profit from information or power entrusted to them.

We thank every voter, volunteer, and community member who helped bring this fight to the ballot. The biggest change starts at the local level. Today is a victory. Tomorrow, we will hold our leaders to the standard voters have set.”

Hoffman-Mirilovich’s and Partyka’s names appeared on the Luzerne and Lackawanna County petitions (respectively) to get these referendums on the ballot for the 2026 General Election.
